2 Chronicles 6

This is largely parallel to 1 Kings 8. Sometimes it is just a spelling difference. Sometimes there are specific differences. (E.g. verse 13 below is new information about Solomon's scaffold.) But detailed comparison would be more detail than these posts can go into. Translation has a certain momentum, like skim-boarding. It's not digging for clams or trapping crabs, though occasionally one points to this or that feature.

Sometimes my phrasing is indelicate. A Lego character can 'turn his face around' probably more easily than Solomon. So for verse 3 and the parallel in 1 Kings 8 I have wrenched the body of the text into a more appropriate phrasing to avoid spinal injury to the king.

There is a closely controlled process that I will try to detail at some point. Every word that is 'done' is used to seed the words that are not yet read. When I read the computer's 'guesses' then I sometimes have to revisit older decisions.

אָ֖ז אָמַ֣ר שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה
יְהוָ֣ה אָמַ֔ר לִשְׁכּ֖וֹן בָּעֲרָפֶֽל
1 g Then Solomon said,
Yahweh is said to dwell in dark turbulence.
