1 Kings 21

Just how does one love those worthless men? What would change them? Where did they come from? The question can be asked. And you might wish not to have asked it. Bless is used as a euphemism for curse in ancient Israel. You have to guess where.

Ahab brings evil upon his children. Ahab makes Israel sin. How do you do that? By setting a bad example.

1 Kings 21 Fn Min Max Syll
1 And it was following these things. Naboth, the Jezreelite, had a vineyard that was in Jezreel,
next to the palace of Ahab, king of Samaria.

10
2 And Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, Give me your vineyard that it may become my garden of foliage, for it is near, next to my house, and I will give to you in its stead, a vineyard better than it.
If it is good in your eyes, I will give to you its price in silver.
3e 4C 45
15
3 And Naboth said to Ahab,
Far be it from me, from Yahweh, for me to give the inheritance of my ancestors to you.

17
4 And Ahab came to his house stubborn and outraged over the word that Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him, for he had said, I will not give you the inheritance of my ancestors.
And he lay down on his couch, and he turned around his face, and would not eat bread.
3e 4B 43
18
5 And Jezebel his wife came to him,
and she spoke to him, What is this? your spirit sullen, and you will not eat bread?
3e 4B 10
19
6 And he spoke to her, Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and I said to him, Give me your vineyard for silver, or if it delights you, I will give to you a vineyard in its stead.
For he had said, I will not give you my vineyard.
3e 4C 45
10
7 And Jezebel his wife said to him, Are you now what royalty is made of over Israel?
Arise, eat bread, and let your heart be merry. I myself will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.
3d 4C 24
27
8 And she wrote correspondence in the name of Ahab, and sealed them with his seal,
and sent correspondence to the elders and to the freeborn that were in his city, those inhabiting with Naboth.
3e 4C 17
26
9 And she wrote in the correspondence, saying,
Proclaim a fast, and let Naboth sit at the head of the people.
3e 4A 8
14
10 ~ And let two persons, children of worthlessness, sit before him, and let them witness, saying, You did bless God and the king.
And bring him out and engulf him with stones and let him die.
3e 4B 32
12
11 And the men of his city, the elders and the freeborn who inhabited in his city, did as Jezebel had sent them,
as inscribed in the correspondence that she had sent to them.
3d 4C 34
15
12 They proclaimed a fast,
and had Naboth sit at the head of the people.
3e 4A 3
11
13 ~ And the two men, the children of worthlessness, came and sat before him, and the worthless men testified against Naboth in front of the people, saying, Naboth has blessed God and the king.
And they brought him out outside of the city and engulfed him with stones and he died.
3d 4C 49
21
14 And they sent to Jezebel, saying,
Naboth has been jettisoned and is dead.
3e 4B 10
7
15 And it happened when Jezebel heard that Naboth had been jettisoned and was dead,
that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, possess the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite that he would not give to you for silver, for there is no Naboth living, for he is dead.
3d 4C 15
39
16 And it happened when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead,
that Ahab arose to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite to possess it.
3d 4B 11
21
17 And the word of Yahweh happened to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 3e 3g 16
18 B Arise. Go down to encounter Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria.
Behold in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to possess it.
3d 4B 16
15
19 And speak to him, saying, Thus says Yahweh, Have you murdered and moreover taken possession?
And speak to him, saying, Thus says Yahweh, In the place where the dogs lapped the blood of Naboth, the dogs will lap your blood, even you.
3c 4C 22
38
20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you found me, my enemy?
And he said, I have found because you have sold yourself to do evil in the eyes of Yahweh.
3e 4C 16
22
21 Note me well. I will bring to you evil, and I will shrive after you.
Then I will cut off of Ahab those who piss on the house wall, the contained and forsaken in Israel.
3e 4C 17
21
22 And I will make your house as the house of Jeroboam, child of Nebat, and as the house of Baasha, child of Achiyah,
for the grief with which you have caused grief, and made Israel to sin.
3e 4B 23
17
23 And moreover to Jezebel Yahweh spoke, saying,
The dogs will eat Jezebel by the bulwark of Jezreel.
3d 4A 12
15
24 One that dies of Ahab in the city, the dogs will eat,
and one that dies in the field, the fowl of the heavens will eat.
3e 4C 12
13
25 C But there was no one like Ahab, who sold himself to do evil in the eyes of Yahweh,
whom Jezebel his wife incited.
3e 4C 21
12
26 And he did very abominably to go after the figurines,
according to everything that the Amorites had done, whom Yahweh had dispossessed before the face of the children of Israel.
3e 4B 15
23
27 And it happened when Ahab heard these words, that he ripped his garments, and he put sackcloth on his flesh, and he fasted, and he lay down in sackcloth,
and he walked bent.
3e 4C 31
9
28 And the word happened of Yahweh to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 3e 3g 16
29 Have you seen that Ahab has subdued himself before me?
Because he has subdued himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days. In the days of his son, I will bring the evil over his house.
