Nehemiah 4

Verse 6, the sentence is missing a bit. Imagine a conversation said under your breath, but the intent is obvious to you.

Verse 7, the stem צחח is one that suggests a hot spot, but I expect it is used metaphorically. Sometimes I can feel defeated by one word for some time. There is much even in the Hebrew chapters of this book that is of a different style from other books. My prediction algorithm's guesses are more often 1 at a time here rather than more than one word in sequence.

The last verse has an anomaly about water. I added a connecting preposition (smile - you can do anything with a preposition). NIV constructs a plausible sentence about fetching water. KJV thinks it is about washing. JB corrects with others rather lamely in this case, to read hand instead of water.

If translators are going to correct the text, (whether they tell us or not) why would anyone think the text was the 'word of God'? What is it that people are looking for? or think they are looking at? and read so selectively, and usually just to confirm their own already prejudiced opinion?

הַבּוֹנִ֧ים בַּחוֹמָ֛ה וְהַנֹּשְׂאִ֥ים בַּסֶּ֖בֶל עֹמְשִׂ֑ים בְּאַחַ֤ת יָדוֹ֙ עֹשֶׂ֣ה בַמְּלָאכָ֔ה וְאַחַ֖ת מַחֲזֶ֥קֶת הַשָּֽׁלַח	11		The builders on the wall, and the lifters of burdens, carried on, with one hand doing the lines of work, and the other resolutely holding the weapon.	3c	4C	15 20
וְהַ֨בּוֹנִ֔ים אִ֥ישׁ חַרְבּ֛וֹ אֲסוּרִ֥ים עַל־מָתְנָ֖יו וּבוֹנִ֑ים וְהַתּוֹקֵ֥עַ בַּשּׁוֹפָ֖ר אֶצְלִֽי	12		And the builders, each his sword bound on his waist, and building, and the one who sounded the shophar was next to me.	3d	4A	16 10
וָאֹמַ֞ר אֶל־הַחֹרִ֤ים וְאֶל־הַסְּגָנִים֙ וְאֶל־יֶ֣תֶר הָעָ֔ם הַמְּלָאכָ֥ה הַרְבֵּ֖ה וּרְחָבָ֑ה וַאֲנַ֗חְנוּ נִפְרָדִים֙ עַל־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה רְחוֹקִ֖ים אִ֥ישׁ מֵאָחִֽיו	13		And I said to the freeborn and the prefects and the remaining people, The lines of work are excessive and broad, and we are separated on the wall, distant each from his kin.	3e	4C	26 18
בִּמְק֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֤ר תִּשְׁמְעוּ֙ אֶת־ק֣וֹל הַשּׁוֹפָ֔ר שָׁ֖מָּה תִּקָּבְצ֣וּ אֵלֵ֑ינוּ אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ יִלָּ֥חֶם לָֽנוּ	14		In the place that you hear the voice of the shophar, there rally to us. Our God will fight for us.	3e	4C	20 9
וַאֲנַ֖חְנוּ עֹשִׂ֣ים בַּמְּלָאכָ֑ה וְחֶצְיָ֗ם מַחֲזִיקִים֙ בָּֽרְמָחִ֔ים מֵעֲל֣וֹת הַשַּׁ֔חַר עַ֖ד צֵ֥את הַכּוֹכָבִֽים	15		So we did the lines of work, and half were resolute with lances, from the coming up of the dawn until the coming out of the stars.	3e	4B	9 22
