Judges 6

A famous incident. More to it than the last 5 verses though.
Judges 6 Fn Min Max Syll
1 And the children of Israel did evil in the eyes of Yahweh,
and Yahweh gave them into the hand of Midian seven years.
3c 4B 16
13
2 And the hand of Midian was strengthened over Israel.
In the face of Midian, the children of Israel made for themselves the hollows that are in the hills and the caves and the fortresses.
3e 4B 10
33
3 And it was when Israel had sown,
that Midian came up and Amalek and the children of the east, and they came up against him.
3c 4B 9
17
4 And they encamped against them and destroyed the produce of the land till you enter Gaza.
And they did not leave a trace of life in Israel, or lamb, or bull, or ass.
3e 4C 23
18
5 ~ For they and their acquisitions came up, and their tents. And they came as locust for abundance, and of them and of their camels there was no count.
And they entered into the land to destroy it.
3e 4C 34
10
6 And Israel was much weakened from the presence of Midian,
and the children of Israel appealed to Yahweh.
3c 4B 12
12
7 And it happened when the children of Israel appealed to Yahweh,
over the agency of Midian,
3e 4A 13
5
8 That Yahweh sent a prophet to the children of Israel,
and he said to them, Thus says Yahweh the God of Israel, I myself brought you up from Egypt and brought you out from the house of servitude,
3c 4C 14
38
9 And I delivered you from the hand of Egypt, and from the hand of all who restricted you,
and expelled them from before you, and I gave to you their land.
3e 4C 17
17
10 And I said to you, I am Yahweh your God. You will not fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you have settled,
but you did not hear with my voice.
3e 4C 33
8
11 And the messenger of Yahweh came and sat under an elm which was in Ophrah, that was of Joash Abi the Ezraite,
and Gideon, his son, was beating out wheat by the vat, to withdraw it from before Midian.
3e 4C 30
18
12 And the messenger of Yahweh appeared to him,
and he said to him, Yahweh is with you, O valiant one of ability.
3e 4B 9
14
13 And Gideon said to him, O my Lord, so is Yahweh with us? Then why has all this found us?
And where are all his wonders that our ancestors have recounted to us, saying, Did not Yahweh bring us up from Egypt? But now Yahweh has abandoned us and has given us into the palm of Midian.
3e 4C 27
47
14 And Yahweh faced him, and said, Go in this your power, and save Israel from the palm of Midian.
Have not I sent you?
3e 4C 28
6
15 And he said to him, O my Lord, with what will I save Israel?
Behold my drove is weak in Manasseh, and I myself of little account in the house of my father.
3e 4C 18
20
16 And Yahweh said to him, But I will be with you,
and you will strike Midian as one person.
3e 4C 12
11
17 And he said to him, If, please, I have found grace in your eyes,
then make me a sign that you are speaking with me.
3d 4C 15
14
18 Please do not deviate from here until I come to you, and I will bring out my gifts, that I will leave before you.
And he said, I myself will sit till you return.
3e 4C 28
12
19 And Gideon went and he did a male kid of the she-goats and an ephah of flour of unleavened bread. The flesh he put in a woven pannier, and the broth he put into a kettle,
that he brought out to him under the elm, and he came close.
3d 4C 31
14
20 And the messenger of God said to him, Take the flesh and the unleavened bread and leave it on this craggy rock, and the broth, pour out.
And he did so.
3e 4C 37
4
21 And the messenger of Yahweh extended the extremity of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened bread,
and the fire came up from the rock and it devoured the flesh and the unleavened bread, and the messenger of Yahweh went from his sight.
3e 4C 29
30
22 And Gideon saw that he was the messenger of Yahweh,
and Gideon said, Aye yai yai, my Lord Yahweh, for so I have seen the messenger of Yahweh face to face.
3e 4C 10
27
23 And Yahweh said to him, Peace to you. Do not fear.
You will not die.
3c 4A 13
3
24 And Gideon built there an altar to Yahweh, and called it Yahweh is peace.
To this day it is still in Ophrah of Abi the Ezraite.
3e 4C 19
16
25 And it was in that night that Yahweh said to him, Take the young bull of the bull that is your father's, and a young bull, the second of seven years,
and overthrow the altar of the Baal that is your father's. And the fetish that is by it, you will cut off.
3c 4C 33
28
26 And you will build an altar to Yahweh your God on the top of this stronghold in the arranged place.
And you will take the young bull, the second, and offer up a burnt offering with the wood of the fetish that you will cut off.
3c 4B 25
28
27 And Gideon took ten men from his servants, and he did as Yahweh spoke to him.
And it was that he feared the house of his father and the men of the city to do it by day, so he did it by night.
3d 4C 27
27
28 And those of the city rose early in the morning, and behold, the altar of the Baal was broken down, and the fetish that was by it was cut off,
and the young bull, the second, was offered up on the altar that was built.
3e 4C 33
18
29 And they said each to his friend, who has done this thing?
And they searched out, and they sought, and they said, Gideon, child of Joash, he has done this thing.
3e 4B 16
22
30 And the men of the city said to Joash, Bring out your child, and he will die.
Because he has broken down the altar of the Baal and because he has cut off the fetish that is by it.
3e 4C 18
21
31 And Joash said to all who were standing over him, You? Do you contend for Baal as if you can save him? Whoever will contend for him, let him be put to death while it is the morning.
If he is God, let him contend for himself if someone broke down his altar.
3d 4B 41
15
32 And he called him in that day Jerubbaal, saying,
Let the Baal contend against him. For he had broken down his altar.
3e 4C 14
13
33 And all Midian, and Amalek, and the children of the east were gathered as one,
and they crossed over and encamped in the valley of Jezreel.
3c 4B 16
15
34 But the spirit of Yahweh clothed Gideon,
and he sounded the shophar, and Abiezer appealed, following him.
3e 4B 10
16
35 And messengers he sent in all of Manasseh, and he appealed also himself after him,
and messengers he sent in Asher and in Zebulun and in Naphtali, and they came up to encounter them.
3e 4C 19
24
36 And Gideon said to God,
If you will be saving Israel by my hand as you have spoken.
3c 4A 10
19
37 Behold, I will exhibit a fleece of wool on the threshing-floor.
If the dew will be on the fleece only, and over all the earth is desert, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand as you have spoken.
3c 4B 16
39
38 And it was so. And he rose up early on the morrow and closed up the fleece,
and pressed out dew from the fleece, filling the tureen with water.
3e 4C 17
15
39 And Gideon said to God, Do not let your anger burn against me, and I will speak but this one time.
I will prove, please, solely this one time, with the fleece. Let be, if you will, desert on the fleece only, and over all the earth, let there be dew.
3e 4C 24
31
40 And God did so in that night.
And it was desert on the fleece only, and over all the earth was dew.
