Deuteronomy 25

Verse 2. KJV renders בן as be worthy. It turns out that I had never noticed בן is not really a separate stem but is given as derived from בנה to build. I could eliminate son from the set of English glosses to be used. There's a challenge I will not be following. Equally I can recognize this use of בן as a use of בנה and just let the idiom and related synonyms for building dominate the verse. So I used straw.

בן children (2,247) child (1,398) son (311) sons (145) he- (50) ben- (11) squab (11) Child (10) Ben- (7) untranslated (5) little (4) -kin (2) Son (2) concerning children (2) grandson (2) kids (2) male foal (2) Ben (1) calve (1) children - (1) cubs (1) destiny (1) eaglet (1)
בנה build (169) built (157) straw (18) built-up area (16) manner (9) build up (8) built up (6) pattern (6) shape (4) Livnah (3) began build (2) during build (2) Bunah (1) building took (1) building up (1) rebuild (1) rebuilt (1)

Verses 5 to 9 have an odd stem יבם repeated 7 times (sister-in-law, husband's brother, combine are the glosses I have used here). There are only 3 other uses. These are in Ruth and Genesis 38, the only other places where the Levirite marriage practice is noted.
