Numbers 13

What I usually think of as a singular pronoun, הוא in verses 18-20 and elsewhere, is used and seems to indicate a plurality. While I have rendered them in the plural they, sometimes I wonder if they should read as he or it. I am also intrigued by למקום for place in verse 24. The ל is not required. In that verse the English is passive but the Hebrew is not. It might read - that place he called the wadi etc. As if only one person named the land.

At the moment there are no giants in Bob's Bible. The word traditionally for giants is נפל, which is simply fallen. I may change this if I ever sort out further the various super-tribes mentioned in Genesis, Chronicles, etc.

Note the music of the list - note the outstanding way in which Joshua is singled out in the music.

23 And they came to the wadi of Eshkol, and they cut from there a pruning, and one cluster of grapes, and they bore it on a crosspiece between two of them,
and from pomegranates and from figs.
3e 4C 35
11
24 That place is called the wadi of Eshkol [cluster],
over the agency of the cluster which the children of Israel cut from there.
3e 4C 11
17

at the end of forty days.
3e 4B 9

26 And they went and they came to Moses and to Aaron and to the assembly of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran toward Qadesh,
and they returned to them a word, and to all the assembly, and showed them the fruit of the land.
3c 4C 32
23
27 And they recounted to him and they said, We came to the land to which you sent us,
and furthermore, it is gushing with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
3d 4B 18
13
28 C At the end the people are strong who inhabit the land, and the cities are enclosed, very great,
and moreover the successions of Anaq, we have seen there.
3e 4C 12
24
29 Amalek inhabits in the land of the Negev,
and the Hittite and the Jebusite and the Amorite inhabit on the hill, and the Canaanite inhabits by the sea and into the estuary of the Jordan.
3e 4C 11
33
30 And Caleb hushed the people to Moses,
and he said, Go up. Let us ascend and possess it for we can overpower it.
3c 4C 11
19
31 But everyone that went up with him said, we are not able to ascend to the people,
for more courageous is he than we are.
3e 4C 22
6
32 And they brought out defamation of the land that they had explored to the children of Israel, saying,
The land where we passed through to explore is a land that eats its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in its midst, men of armour.
3d 4C 23
38
33 And there we have seen the fallen, the children of Anaq from the fallen,
but we were in our eyes like grasshoppers, and so we were in their eyes.
