1 Samuel 5

A short chapter while I move my office back home.

1 Samuel 5 Fn Min Max Syll
1 And the Philistines took the ark of God,
and brought it from the Help Stone to Ashdod.

13
2 And the Philistines took the ark of God and they brought it to the house of Dagon,
and exhibited it next to Dagon.

10
3 And they of Ashdod rose up early on the morrow, and behold Dagon had fallen on its face earthward, before the ark of Yahweh,
and they took Dagon and they settled it in its place.

15
4 And they rose up early on the morning afterwards, and behold Dagon had fallen on its face earthward before the ark of Yahweh,
and the head of Dagon and both the palms of its hands were cut off on the sill, but Dagon was still there.

24
5 Therefore the priests of Dagon and all that enter the house of Dagon do not tread on the sill of Dagon in Ashdod,
to this day.

6
6 But the hand of Yahweh was heavy on those of Ashdod,
and he desolated them and struck them with hemorrhoids, Ashdod and her borders.

16
7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so,
they said, The ark of the God of Israel will not settle with us, for hard is his hand over us and over Dagon our God.

32
8 And they sent and gathered all the chieftains of the Philistines to them and said, What will we do to the ark of the God of Israel? And they said, Let it be around Gath, the ark of the God of Israel.
And they brought round the ark of the God of Israel.
3e 4B 48
14
9 And it was after they moved it around that the hand of Yahweh was against the city with very great discomfort, and struck everyone of the city from the least and to the greatest.
Their hemorrhoids were in private places.
3e 4C 39
9
10 And they sent the ark of God to Eqron.
And it happened as the ark of God went to Eqron, that they of Eqron appealed, saying, They have brought around to me the ark of the God of Israel, to have me put to death, and my people.

45
11 And they sent and gathered all the chieftains of the Philistines, and said, Send back the ark of the God of Israel and let it return to its place, and let it not put me to death, me and my people,
for there was deadly discomfort in all the city. Very heavy was the hand of God there.
3d 4C 44
22
12 And everyone that had not died was struck with hemorrhoids.
And the cry of the city came up to the heavens.
