1 Samuel 28

בְּעֵ֥ין דּֽוֹר - could be translated as 'in the eye of a generation'. The woman of Endor would be a seer. The word I have rendered as superior, is the word for husband, Baal, בעל. The algorithm keeps translating Saul as the grave and tried bring up as burnt offering. The letter patterns do not differ. The possible double entendre is suggestive along with the Baal language as to the 'lack of control' of superstition and ritual that might be implied. Scholarly article here with nice pictures. [His solution to the sequence of events is not satisfactory to me. What is the problem with the woman remembering her image of Samuel 'in her mind' and recognizing the compromised psyche of Saul? I don't see the problem, and at first glance ותרא does not appear as a form of ירא anywhere. Except maybe verse 5.]

וַיִּשָּׁ֤בַֽע לָהּ֙ שָׁא֔וּל בַּֽיהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹ֑ר חַי־יְהוָ֕ה אִֽם־יִקְּרֵ֥ךְ עָוֺ֖ן בַּדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה	10		And Saul swore to her by Yahweh, saying, Yahweh lives. No iniquity will befall you in this matter.	3e	4C	11 14
וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה אֶת־מִ֖י אַֽעֲלֶה־לָּ֑ךְ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר אֶת־שְׁמוּאֵ֖ל הַֽעֲלִי־לִֽי	11		And the woman said, Whom will I bring up for you? And he said, Samuel, bring up for me.	3e	4A	12 11
וַתֵּ֤רֶא הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ אֶת־שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל וַתִּזְעַ֖ק בְּק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל וַתֹּאמֶר֩ הָאִשָּׁ֨ה אֶל־שָׁא֧וּל לֵאמֹ֛ר לָ֥מָּה רִמִּיתָ֖נִי וְאַתָּ֥ה שָׁאֽוּל	12		And the woman saw Samuel and appealed with a great voice, and the woman said to Saul, saying, Why have you deceived me? וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהּ֙ מַֽה־תָּאֳר֔וֹ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר אִ֤ישׁ זָקֵן֙ עֹלֶ֔ה וְה֥וּא עֹטֶ֖ה מְעִ֑יל וַיֵּ֤דַע שָׁאוּל֙ כִּֽי־שְׁמוּאֵ֣ל ה֔וּא וַיִּקֹּ֥ד אַפַּ֛יִם אַ֖רְצָה וַיִּשְׁתָּֽחוּ	14		And he said to her, What is his form? And she said, A man, old, brought up, and he, wrapped in a mantle. And Saul knew that it was Samuel, and he bowed his head, nostrils earthward, and prostrated himself.	3d	4C	22 21

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל וְלָ֖מָּה תִּשְׁאָלֵ֑נִי וַיהוָ֛ה סָ֥ר מֵעָלֶ֖יךָ וַיְהִ֥י עָרֶֽךָ	16		And Samuel said, And why ask me, when Yahweh has turned aside from you, when he is your blindness?	3d	4B	13 12

כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־שָׁמַ֙עְתָּ֙ בְּק֣וֹל יְהוָ֔ה וְלֹֽא־עָשִׂ֥יתָ חֲרוֹן־אַפּ֖וֹ בַּעֲמָלֵ֑ק עַל־כֵּן֙ הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה עָשָֽׂה־לְךָ֥ יְהוָ֖ה הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה	18		In that you have not heard with the voice of Yahweh, and you have not undertaken his fierce anger against Amalek, so this word Yahweh has done to you this day.	3e	4C	22 17
וְיִתֵּ֣ן יְ֠הוָה גַּ֣ם אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל עִמְּךָ֙ בְּיַד־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וּמָחָ֕ר אַתָּ֥ה וּבָנֶ֖יךָ עִמִּ֑י גַּ֚ם אֶת־מַחֲנֵ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יִתֵּ֥ן יְהוָ֖ה בְּיַד־פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים	19		And Yahweh will also give Israel with you into the hand of the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your children with you, even the army of Israel Yahweh will give into the hand of the Philistines.	3e	4C	28 17
וַיְמַהֵ֣ר שָׁא֗וּל וַיִּפֹּ֤ל מְלֹא־קֽוֹמָתוֹ֙ אַ֔רְצָה וַיִּרָ֥א מְאֹ֖ד מִדִּבְרֵ֣י שְׁמוּאֵ֑ל גַּם־כֹּ֙חַ֙ לֹא־הָ֣יָה ב֔וֹ כִּ֣י לֹ֤א אָכַל֙ לֶ֔חֶם כָּל־הַיּ֖וֹם וְכָל־הַלָּֽיְלָה	20		And precipitously Saul fell his full height earthward, and he feared much from the words of Samuel. Even power was not there in him, for he had not eaten bread all the day long and all the night long.	3e	4C	25 20
וַתָּב֤וֹא הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ אֶל־שָׁא֔וּל וַתֵּ֖רֶא כִּי־נִבְהַ֣ל מְאֹ֑ד וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֗יו הִנֵּ֨ה שָׁמְעָ֤ה שִׁפְחָֽתְךָ֙ בְּקוֹלֶ֔ךָ וָאָשִׂ֤ים נַפְשִׁי֙ בְּכַפִּ֔י וָֽאֶשְׁמַע֙ אֶת־דְּבָרֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ אֵלָֽי	21		And the woman came to Saul and she saw that he was much vexed, and she said to him, Behold your handmaid has heard with your voice, and I have put my being in my palm, and I have heard your words that you spoke to me.	3e	4C	17 39
וְעַתָּ֗ה שְׁמַֽע־נָ֤א גַם־אַתָּה֙ בְּק֣וֹל שִׁפְחָתֶ֔ךָ וְאָשִׂ֧מָה לְפָנֶ֛יךָ פַּת־לֶ֖חֶם וֶאֱכ֑וֹל וִיהִ֤י בְךָ֙ כֹּ֔חַ כִּ֥י תֵלֵ֖ךְ בַּדָּֽרֶךְ	22		So now hear, if you will, even you with the voice of your handmaid, and I will set before you a fragment of bread. And eat, and there will be power in you when you go on the way.	3c	4C	29 12
וַיְמָאֵ֗ן וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ לֹ֣א אֹכַ֔ל וַיִּפְרְצוּ־ב֤וֹ עֲבָדָיו֙ וְגַם־הָ֣אִשָּׁ֔ה וַיִּשְׁמַ֖ע לְקֹלָ֑ם וַיָּ֙קָם֙ מֵֽהָאָ֔רֶץ וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב אֶל־הַמִּטָּֽה	23		And he would not. And he said, I will not eat. But his servants broke out against him, and also the woman, and he heard their voice. And he arose from the earth and sat on the couch.	3e	4C	27 14
וְלָאִשָּׁ֤ה עֵֽגֶל־מַרְבֵּק֙ בַּבַּ֔יִת וַתְּמַהֵ֖ר וַתִּזְבָּחֵ֑הוּ וַתִּקַּח־קֶ֣מַח וַתָּ֔לָשׁ וַתֹּפֵ֖הוּ מַצּֽוֹת	24		And the woman had a calf in a stall in the house, and she was swift and she sacrificed it, and she took flour and kneaded and baked unleavened bread.	3e	4C	19 14
וַתַּגֵּ֧שׁ לִפְנֵֽי־שָׁא֛וּל וְלִפְנֵ֥י עֲבָדָ֖יו וַיֹּאכֵ֑לוּ וַיָּקֻ֥מוּ וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ בַּלַּ֥יְלָה הַהֽוּא	25		And she came close before Saul and before his servants, and they ate and they arose and they went in that night.	3c	4A	16 12
