Jeremiah 47

A very short chapter. I have been working on Leviticus 14. It is long like 1 Chronicles 2. So I need a break. This chapter is really short like the two from Isaiah recently.

Jeremiah 47 Fn Min Max Syll
1 The word of Yahweh that happened to Jeremiah the prophet, to the Philistines,
before Pharaoh struck Gaza.

2 B Thus says Yahweh, Behold waters ascend from the north and will be, for the wadi, overflowing, and will overflow a land and her fullness, a city and those settled in her,
and the human will appeal. Every inhabitant of the land will howl.

3 From the voice of the thud of the hoofs of his mighty ones, from the quake of his chariot, the tumult of its whirlwinds,
parents will not face children from the timidity of their hands.

4 Concerning the day coming to devastate all the Philistines, to cut off for Tyre and for Sidon, every survivor to help.
For Yahweh will devastate the Philistines, the residue of the coast of Caphtor.

5 C Baldness is come to Gaza. Ashkelon is undone, the residue of their valley.
How long will you self-slash?

6 ~ Alas the sword of Yahweh, how long please? Will you not be quiet?
Gather yourself into your scabbard. Find ease and be mute.

7 B How will it be quiet? For Yahweh has commanded her.
To Ashkelon and to the sea port, there he has engaged her.
