Numbers 15

We are back to the chapters that are highly repetitive of words and word sequences. There is still some variation, but generally these next chapters of Torah are 55%-65% automatically glossed when I come to them. Psalms and Proverbs are different. It seems clear that Psalms and Proverbs provide a usage of the language that is not repetitive across other books perhaps because it is not 'descriptive' - either of chronicle or of regulation, so these two books give unique views of words.

It is good that I was very strict with my concordance rules when I began in the Psalms. I have both loosened my rules a bit - I allow myself more flexibility with alternative glosses, and also tightened them a bit - I follow Hebrew word order more explicitly sometimes. But exactly what would happen if I reworked a psalm from scratch I have not tested (to see how the computer algorithms would populate the glosses based on the rest of the chapters I have done). Maybe I will try that when I set up a test bed some day. I think I would find that even Psalm 78 rarely quoted other books directly. One expression I can think of is the phrase from Exodus 34:6, clearly referenced in several Psalms.

It alone would not help much though: Here are the allusions to Exodus 34:6 that I found with a test of pairs of words:
אף preceded by ארך, slow and anger.
5 in Proverbs,  3 in Psalms, one each in Isaiah, Jeremiah, Joel, Jonah, Nahum, Nehemiah, Numbers
רחום preceded by חנן, compassionate and gracious,
only two in Psalms.

וְכִפֶּ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֗ן עַל־הַנֶּ֧פֶשׁ הַשֹּׁגֶ֛גֶת בְּחֶטְאָ֥ה בִשְׁגָגָ֖ה לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה לְכַפֵּ֥ר עָלָ֖יו וְנִסְלַ֥ח לֽוֹ	28		And the priest will make a cover-offering over the self that went astray, when it sinned by going astray in the presence of Yahweh, for a cover-price over it, and it will be forgiven for it.	3c	4B	24 9
הָֽאֶזְרָח֙ בִּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְלַגֵּ֖ר הַגָּ֣ר בְּתוֹכָ֑ם תּוֹרָ֤ה אַחַת֙ יִהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֔ם לָעֹשֶׂ֖ה בִּשְׁגָגָֽה	29		The native among the children of Israel, and for the guest residing among them, one instruction there will be for you for what is done when going astray.	3e	4C	16 14

כִּ֤י דְבַר־יְהוָה֙ בָּזָ֔ה וְאֶת־מִצְוָת֖וֹ הֵפַ֑ר הִכָּרֵ֧ת ׀ תִּכָּרֵ֛ת הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ הַהִ֖וא עֲוֺנָ֥ה בָֽהּ	31	C	For the word of Yahweh it has despised, and his commandment it has thwarted, Cut off. This group will be cut off, its iniquity against it.	3c	4C	14 15
וַיִּהְי֥וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר וַֽיִּמְצְא֗וּ אִ֛ישׁ מְקֹשֵׁ֥שׁ עֵצִ֖ים בְּי֥וֹם הַשַּׁבָּֽת	32		And when the children of Israel were in the wilderness, and they found someone assembling wood together on the day of the Sabbath,	3d	4A	11 15
וַיַּקְרִ֣יבוּ אֹת֔וֹ הַמֹּצְאִ֥ים אֹת֖וֹ מְקֹשֵׁ֣שׁ עֵצִ֑ים אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֙ וְאֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֔ן וְאֶ֖ל כָּל־הָעֵדָֽה	33		And they brought him near, when they found him assembling wood together, to Moses and to Aaron and to the assembly.	3e	4B	16 14
וַיַּנִּ֥יחוּ אֹת֖וֹ בַּמִּשְׁמָ֑ר כִּ֚י לֹ֣א פֹרַ֔שׁ מַה־יֵּעָשֶׂ֖ה לֽוֹ	34		And they let him rest in a keep, for it was not distinctly clear what should be done to him.	3e	4C	9 9
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה מ֥וֹת יוּמַ֖ת הָאִ֑ישׁ רָג֨וֹם אֹת֤וֹ בָֽאֲבָנִים֙ כָּל־הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה מִח֖וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה	35		And Yahweh said to Moses the person will be put to death. All the assembly are to pelt him with stones outside the camp.	3e	4C	13 18
וַיֹּצִ֨יאוּ אֹת֜וֹ כָּל־הָעֵדָ֗ה אֶל־מִחוּץ֙ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה וַיִּרְגְּמ֥וּ אֹת֛וֹ בָּאֲבָנִ֖ים וַיָּמֹ֑ת כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה	36		And all the assembly brought out him outside the camp and pelted him with stones and he died, as Yahweh commanded Moses.	3d	4A	30 10
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר	37		And Yahweh said to Moses, saying,	3e	3g	10
דַּבֵּ֞ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֔ם וְעָשׂ֨וּ לָהֶ֥ם צִיצִ֛ת עַל־כַּנְפֵ֥י בִגְדֵיהֶ֖ם לְדֹרֹתָ֑ם וְנָֽתְנ֛וּ עַל־צִיצִ֥ת הַכָּנָ֖ף פְּתִ֥יל תְּכֵֽלֶת	38		Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them that they make for themselves tassels on the hems of their garments for their generations, and let them position over the tassels of the hem a lace of amethyst.	3d	4C	32 14
וְהָיָ֣ה לָכֶם֮ לְצִיצִת֒ וּרְאִיתֶ֣ם אֹת֗וֹ וּזְכַרְתֶּם֙ אֶת־כָּל־מִצְוֺ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם אֹתָ֑ם וְלֹֽא־תָתֻ֜רוּ אַחֲרֵ֤י לְבַבְכֶם֙ וְאַחֲרֵ֣י עֵֽינֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּ֥ם זֹנִ֖ים אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם	39		And it will be for you for tassels, and you will see it, and you will remember all the commandment of Yahweh, and you will do them, and not explore after your heart and after your eyes that you play the harlot after them.	3e	4C	28 27
לְמַ֣עַן תִּזְכְּר֔וּ וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם אֶת־כָּל־מִצְוֺתָ֑י וִהְיִיתֶ֥ם קְדֹשִׁ֖ים לֵֽאלֹהֵיכֶֽם	40		In order that you remember and you do all my commandments, and you will become holy to your God.	3e	4B	15 10
