(7 additional verses in the book begin on the dominant and 13 verses on some other note than the tonic. I checked out the verse-opening notes in chapter 1 and verses 6, 9, and 11 are highlighted, two for emphasis and one connecting two verses together. You can always find all the music at the links here.)
The indulgence of the king is absolute. It's not surprising he has enemies among the eunuchs.

|1||Following these words, the heat of the king Ahasuerus having subsided, |
he remembered Vashti and what she had done, and what was adjudicated against her.

|2||And the lads of the king ministering to him said, |
Let lasses be sought for the king, virgins of good appearance.
|3||And let the king entrust officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, and let them collect every virgin lass of good appearance at Shushan, the temple precincts, at the house of the women, to the hand of Hege, eunuch of the king, guard of the women, |
and permit their ablutions.

|4||And let the lass that does well in the eyes of the king be queen instead of Vashti. |
And the word was good in the eyes of the king, and he did so.

|7||And he was fostering Hadassah, she is Esther, daughter of his uncle. For there was for her neither father nor mother. |
And the lass was beautiful, handsome, and of a fine appearance, and her father and her mother having died, Mordecai received her as his daughter.

|8||And it happened when the word of the king was heard and the dictate, and in the collecting of many lasses at Shushan, the temple precincts, to the hand of Hege, |
that Esther was taken to the house of the king to the hand of Hege, guard of the women.

|9||And the lass was good in his eyes, and she bore kindness in his presence, and he was brash with her ablution, and with her portion given to her, and with seven regarded lasses given her from the house of the king, |
and he made adjustments for her and her lasses for good at the house of the women.
|10||Esther had not made clear her people or her nativity, |
because Mordecai commanded her that she not make it clear.

|11||And every day, daily, Mordecai walked before the court of the house of the women, |
to know Esther was in good shape, and what was doing with her.

|12||Now to touch exploration, lass by lass, for entry to king Ahasuerus at the end of her twelve month becoming according to the dictate for the women, (for so are fulfilled the days of ablutions: |
six months with the oil of myrrh and six months in aromatics and in the ablutions of the women).

|13||So in this, the lass came to the king. |
All that she said, was given for her to enter with her, from the house of the women to the house of the king.

|14||In the evening she came, and in the morning she returned to the second house of the women, to the hand of The-servant-of-the-beautiful, eunuch of the king, guard of the courtesans. |
She will not enter any more to the king except the king delighted in her and she is called by name.
|15||Now to touch exploration, Esther daughter of Abixail the uncle of Mordecai whom he had taken to himself for a daughter, for entry to the king, she did not seek any thing except what Hege, eunuch of the king, guard of the women, mentioned, |
and it was Esther who bore grace in the eyes of all who saw her.
|16||So Esther was taken to king Ahasuerus to the house of his royalty, in the tenth new moon, (this is the month of Tebeth), |
in year seven of his reign.
|17||And the king loved Esther over all the women, and she bore grace and kindness in his presence over all the maidens, |
and he set a royal diadem on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
|18||And the king made a great party for all his nobles and his servants, a party for Esther, |
and a holiday for the provinces he made. and he gave forbearances according to the hand of the king.
|19||And when virgins were collected a second time, |
and Mordecai was seated at the gate of the king, ...

|20||B||(Esther had made clear neither her nativity nor her people as Mordecai had commanded her, |
and the pronouncement of Mordecai Esther did, as she had when she was fostered with him.)
|21||In days those when Mordecai was sitting at the gate of the king, |
Bigthan and Teresh, two of the eunuchs of the king who kept the doorway, were enraged, and they sought to reach out a hand against the king, Ahasuerus.
|22||And the matter was known to Mordecai, and he made it clear to Esther the queen, |
and Esther talked to the king in the name of Mordecai.
|23||And the matter was sought out and was found out, and the two of them were hanged on a tree. |
And it was written in the book of the words of the days, in the presence of the king.
