Things of Note

Michael Barber reports that some of Origen's commentaries on the psalms have been discovered.

I was thinking of growing pumpkins this morning. Just a thought. Then there was this discussion of nuance in the word 'keep' at BBB that I am somewhat stumped by. (But Kurk Gayle has resolved my problem with a comment).  And the conversation continues...

  1. Thank you, Bob. I always appreciate conversation with you. Our learning from each other is mutual, I must add.

  2. I hope the learning is good :). I note, by the way, looking at your blog posts on BLT on Eugene Nida, that I can no longer access speakeristic or Aristotle's feminist subject. I would understand this since I just moved all my posts on Poetry of Christ back to draft status. There were just too many errors in the rough work for me to leave them as is. I am in fact wondering what to do with my translations of the Psalms here - leave then for the archivist or conform them to the 1006 (or so) changes that I have made in the last 250 days.

If you would, please add stenagmois at gmail.com to the allowed readers. Or perhaps, since there are direct links from BLT, you might allow public access again... I left a note and a single post on Poetry of Christ, which was a very specific blog for notes only, that there were just too many errors to leave the posts there.

Only today as a result of my wife's editing, I found that I had misread and misquoted Rashi. I think it's fine to make my own mistakes. But I don't want to attribute things to one who must correct me from such a distance in time!
