 Psalm 42 begins book 2 of the psalter. The boundaries of the books are defined by the doxology that occurs at the end of each book. Psalm 42 also begins a group of psalms that use the name Elohim more often than Yahweh. The psalms from 42 to 83 are sometimes referred to as the Elohist Psalter.
