1 Chronicles 29

Verse 20 indicates worship (שׁתח). The objects of worship are Yahweh and the king. I.e. David. JB does not soften this by saying they were on their knees(!) and they paid homage. Yahweh and David are here put on equal grammatical footing with respect to a fundamental religious attitude. (They don't sacrifice to David though.)

The smoothness of the reception of Solomon as king does not sit well with my memory of 1 Kings 1 and 2 in which Solomon consolidates his reign with fratricide. A quick glance at 1 Kings 1 reveals very little overlap with this chapter particularly the act of submission noted in verse 24.

Note - no rest in verse 6.  What would you do with this preposition and the image of time in verse 30? It seems to me that there is no definitive 'meaning' in a tongue for a preposition. There are a cloud of meanings leaning in various directions depending on the other words in the sentence.  For this one - ayin-lamed, over, and on predominate. Against is somewhat common. (This overlaps with other pre-clitic prepositions, ב and ל.)

וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב שְׁ֠לֹמֹה עַל־כִּסֵּ֨א יְהוָ֧ה ׀ לְמֶ֛לֶךְ תַּֽחַת־דָּוִ֥יד אָבִ֖יו וַיַּצְלַ֑ח וַיִּשְׁמְע֥וּ אֵלָ֖יו כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל	23		And Solomon sat on the throne of Yahweh as king instead of David, his father, and prospered. And all Israel heeded him.	3c	4B	23 10
וְכָל־הַשָּׂרִים֙ וְהַגִּבֹּרִ֔ים וְגַ֕ם כָּל־בְּנֵ֖י הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ דָּוִ֑יד נָ֣תְנוּ יָ֔ד תַּ֖חַת שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה הַמֶּֽלֶךְ	24		And all the nobility, and the valiant, and even all the children of the king David, gave a hand under Solomon, the king.	3e	4B	20 11
וַיְגַדֵּ֨ל יְהוָ֤ה אֶת־שְׁלֹמֹה֙ לְמַ֔עְלָה לְעֵינֵ֖י כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּתֵּ֤ן עָלָיו֙ ה֣וֹד מַלְכ֔וּת אֲ֠שֶׁר לֹֽא־הָיָ֧ה עַל־כָּל־מֶ֛לֶךְ לְפָנָ֖יו עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל	25		And Yahweh magnified Solomon to the ascendant in the sight of all Israel, and he assigned to him royal splendour that there had not been over any king before him in Israel.	3c	4C	19 23
וְדָוִיד֙ בֶּן־יִשָׁ֔י מָלַ֖ךְ עַל־כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל	26		And David the son of Jesse was king over all Israel.	3e	3g	13
וְהַיָּמִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר מָלַךְ֙ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אַרְבָּעִ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה בְּחֶבְר֤וֹן מָלַךְ֙ שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֔ים וּבִירוּשָׁלִַ֥ם מָלַ֖ךְ שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים וְשָׁלֽוֹשׁ	27		And the many days that he reigned over Israel was a forty year span.
