Isaiah 16

It's been a while since we did any of the latter prophets, so I picked a chapter at the bottom of my list, one with only 16% pre-guessed from work done so far. That means the words are in differing orders, or differing forms, or rare words not yet encountered.

I also have little context for this chapter, though I did do chapter 17 way back in December 2015. It seems Moab had opportunity to intercede and failed to do so.

Isaiah 16 Fn Min Max Syll
1 Send a butting lamb to the governor of earth from Sela toward the wilderness,
to the hill of the daughter of Zion.
3e 4B 13
5
2 And it will be as the fowl that flees a nest, sent away,
the daughters of Moab will be at the fords of the Arnon.
3e 4B 11
13
3 Enter counsel. Do intercede. Impose as night your shade in the midst of midday.
Hide the banished. Who flees, do not disclose.
3c 4C 23
11
4 Let my banished reside with you, Moab. Be a hiding place for them from the face of a devastator,
for squeezing is ended, consumed is devastation, completed are those trampling over the earth.
3d 4C 18
15
5 And a throne is established in kindness, and he sits on it in truth, in the tent of David,
judging and searching out judgment, and swift to righteousness.
3d 4C 21
11
6 We have heard of the pride of Moab. Very proud,
its pomp and its pride and its fury. Not so its idle talk.
3c 4B 10
15
7 Therefore Moab will howl for Moab. All of her will howl.
For the raisin cakes of the house walls of earthenware, you will mutter, Surely they are crestfallen.
3c 4B 15
14
8 B For the fields of Heshbon are enfeebled, the vine of Sibmah, the owners of nations have smitten. Her noble vine to Yazer is contagion. They wandered ... wilderness,
her extensions abandoned, passed beyond the sea.
3e 4C 32
10
9 Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Yazer for the vine of Sibmah. I will saturate you with my tears, Heshbon and El-Alah,
for on your summer fruits and on your harvest, whooping has fallen.
3c 4C 25
13
10 And gathered are gladness and rejoicing from the plantation, and in the vineyards, no joyful cries, no shout of triumph.
The wine of wine-vats, the treader will not tread out. The whooping I have made to cease.
3d 4C 24
15
11 Therefore my inner parts for Moab murmur like a harp,
and my entrails, for the house walls of earthenware.
3e 4B 13
7
12 And it will be that when it is seen that Moab is fatigued on the high place,
that it will go to its sanctuary to intercede, and it will be not able to.
3c 4A 15
14
13 B This is the word that Yahweh spoke to Moab back then. 3c 4B 15
14 And now Yahweh has spoken, saying, In three years, as the years of a mercenary, and the glory of Moab will be disgraced by all the abundant tumult,
and the residue few and far between, not many more.
