Job 26

A brief respite, filled with very modern skepticism. There is no extreme of the human condition that is not in these records of our ancestors. While my children are in the antipodes, it is interesting to see the northern bias. Why is north up?

Job 26 Fn Min Max Syll
1 And Job answered and said, 3e 3f 8
2 How you help one of no power.
You have saved an arm of no strength.
3e 4B 7
8
3 How you advise one of no wisdom,
and the enterprise of the multitude you make known.
3e 4B 8
9
4 To whom have you announced speeches?
And whose breath exits from you?
3e 4B 7
9
5 The physicians writhe,
under waters, and those dwelling with them.
3e 4A 7
8
6 B Naked is Sheol before him,
and there is no covering to Abaddon.
3e 4B 6
8
7 He stretches out the north over disorder,
hanging earth on nothing whatever.
3e 4B 7
8
8 He troubles waters in his thick cloud,
and a cloud is not split under them.
3e 4B 6
8
9 He grasps the face of a throne,
to strew over it his cloud,
3e 4B 6
7
10 A decree ambient over the face of the waters,
till the consummations of light with darkness.
3e 4B 6
7
11 The pillars of the heavens convulse,
and are astonished from his rebuke.
3e 4B 9
9
12 g By his power uneasy is the sea,
and with acumen he wounds Rahab.
3e 4B 7
9
13 g In his spirit the heavens glisten.
His hand birthed the snake that runs away.
3e 4B 7
10
14 Lo these are the extremes of his way, and how a tad of a word is heard in him,
but the thunder of his valour who understands?
