2 Samuel 21

There are a few tongue-twisters here. I also wrestled a little with the giants. I don't remember why I did not use the gloss giant. For רפאים I have used shades or titans. Shades for the metaphorical usage in parallel with the dead. There is a note here on Deuteronomy 3. I can see why folks like Deane had enough material for doctorates on giants.

re Goliath, compare the parallel, 1 Chronicles 20:5.

2 Samuel 21 Fn Min Max Syll
1 And there was a famine in the days of David, three years, year after year, and David sought out the face of Yahweh.
And Yahweh said, To Saul and to the house of blood, in that he had put to death the Gibeonites.

24
2 So the king called the Gibeonites, and he said to them,
(and the Gibeonites, they were not from the children of Israel but rather from the remains of the Amorite, and the children of Israel had sworn to them, and Saul sought out to strike them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah),

53
3 And David said to the Gibeonites, What will I do for you?
And with what will I make a cover-price, that you may bless the inheritance of Yahweh?
3e 4C 16
15
4 And the Gibeonites said to him, Not for us silver and gold, whether from Saul or from his house, and not for us to execute anyone in Israel.
And he said, What do you say I should do for you?
3c 4C 35
13
5 And they said to the king, The person who consumed us, and who muted us,
exterminating us from being stationed in any of the borders of Israel,
3e 4B 21
14
6 Let seven men be given to us from among his children, and we will display them to Yahweh in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of Yahweh.
And the king said, I myself will give.
3e 4C 28
10
7 But the king pitied Mephiboshet, child of Jonathan, child of Saul,
concerning an oath of Yahweh that was between them, between David and Jonathan, child of Saul.
3e 4C 18
23
8 And the king took two of the sons of Ritspah, the daughter of Ayah, which she gave birth to for Saul, Armoni and Mephiboshet,
and the five sons of Michal, the daughter of Saul, which she gave birth to for Adriel, child of Barzillai the Meholathite.

28
9 And he gave them into the hand of the Gibeonites, and they displayed them on the hill in the presence of Yahweh. And they fell, the seven, as one.
And they were put to death in the days of the harvest, at the beginning, at the commencement of the barley harvest.
3e 4C 27
21
10 And Ritspah the daughter of Ayah took sackcloth and stretched it out for herself on the rock, from the start of the harvest till water was poured forth on them from the heavens,
and no fowl of the heavens was permitted to rest on them by day, nor the animals of the field by night.

25
11 And it was told David,
what Ritspah, the daughter of Ayah, the courtesan of Saul had done.
3c 4A 6
15
12 And David went and he took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son, from the superiors of Jabesh Gilead,
who had stolen them from the plaza of the house of Shean where the Philistines had hanged them, on the day the Philistines struck Saul in Gilboa.
3c 4C 32
34
13 And he brought up from there the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son,
and gathered the bones of those who were displayed.
3e 4C 20
11
14 And they entombed the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the land of Benjamin, in Halt, in the tomb of Kish his father, and they did all that the king commanded,
and God was petitioned for the land, after such things.
3c 4B 42
14
15 And there was more war for the Philistines with Israel,
and David went down and his servants with him, and they fought the Philistines, and David was tired.
3c 4A 13
25
16 And the one sitting at Nob, who was in the successions of the titan, and the weight of his pike, three hundred shekels of brass, and he was newly attired,
and he said he would strike David.
3e 4C 34
9

17 But Abishai, child of Tseruyah, was help to him, and he struck the Philistine and rendered him lifeless.
Then the men of David swore to him, saying, You will not go out any more with us to battle, that the lamp of Israel not be quenched.
3e 4C 22
30
18 And it was after such that there was the further battle in Gob with the Philistines.
Then Thicket the Xushty struck Threshold, who was in the successions of the titan.
3c 4B 19
19
19 And there was yet again the battle in Gob with the Philistines,
and Elxanan, child of the forests of the weaver of Bethlehem, struck Goliath the Gittite, and the timber of his spear was like a weaver's beam.
3c 4C 13
29
20 Then there was more war in Gath.
And there was a man of dissension, and the fingers of his hands, and the toes of his feet, were six and six, twenty four the count. And he also was born of the titan.
3e 4C 8
36
21 And he reproached Israel.
And Jonathan child of Shema the brother of David struck him.
3e 4B 7
15
22 These four were born to the titan in Gath,
and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
