Violence and the kingdom

I am still collecting information on this verse.

Depuis les jours de Jean le Baptiste jusqu'à présent, le Royaume des cieux est assailli avec violence. ce sont les violents qui l'arrachent. (classique)
Depuis l’époque où Jean-Baptiste prêchait jusqu'à présent, le Royaume des cieux subit la violence et les violents cherchent  à s'en emparer. (dynamique)


JB 1962. Since John the Baptist came, up to this present time, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and the violent are taking it by storm. REB - by force, otherwise not significantly different.

Andrew Perriman posted after my initial post. Helpful. I will leave it now - and (maybe) attribute the violence to rulers who rule the wrong way. Seems to me a strange identification of kingdom with kingdom, but it is in context of the encounter as Andrew notes.
