1 A psalm of David,
when he was in the wilderness of Judah. (1-4-1)

ב֝היות֗ו במדב֥ר יהודֽה

2 God my God are you, I will seek you early.
My being thirsts for you. My flesh pines for you,
in an arid and exhausted earth, failing in waters. (1-2-4-1)
ב אלה֤ים אל֥י את֗ה א‍ֽשח֫ר֥ך
צמא֬ה לך֨ נפש֗י כמ֣ה לך֣ בשר֑י
בארץ־צי֖ה ועי֣ף בלי־מֽים

3 ♪g So in holiness I have gazed on you,
to see your strength and your glory. (g-1-4-1)

4 For it is good, your kindness, even over life. My lips will commend you. (1-1)
ד כי־ט֣וב ח֭סדך מֽחי֗ים שפת֥י ישבחֽונך 15

5 ♪B So I will bless you in my life.
In your name I will lift up my palms. (B-1-4-1)
ה כ֣ן אברכך֣ בחי֑י
ב֝שמך אש֥א כפֽי

6 As with the choicest of fatness my being is satisfied,
and my lips shout with joy, my mouth gives praise. (1-4-1)
ו כמ֤ו ח֣לב ו֭דשן תשב֣ע נפש֑י

7 When I remember you where I spread out my bed.
In the watches I meditate in you. (1-4-1)
ז אם־זכרת֥יך על־יצוע֑י
ב֝אשמר֗ות אהגה־בֽך

8 For you have been a help to me,
and in the shadow of your wings I shout with joy. (1-4-1)
ח כֽי־הי֣ית עזר֣תה ל֑י

9 My being follows close after you.
In me your right hand maintains. (1-4-1)
ט דבק֣ה נפש֣י אחר֑יך
ב֝֗י תמכ֥ה ימינֽך

10 And they of catastrophe who seek my being,
let them go to the nethermost parts of the earth. (1-4-1)
י וה֗מה ל֭שואה יבקש֣ו נפש֑י
י֝ב֗או בֽתחתי֥ות האֽרץ

11 They will be wrung out by means of a sword,
a portion of foxes they will be. (1-4-1)
יא יגיר֥הו על־ידי־ח֑רב
מנ֖ת שעל֣ים יהיֽו

mnt wuylim ihiu
12 But the king will be glad in God.
Everyone swearing by him will praise,
for the mouth of those speaking falsehood will be stopped. (1-2-4-1)
יב והמלך֮ ישמ֪ח באל֫ה֥ים
י֭תהלל כל־הנשב֣ע ב֑ו
כ֥י י֝סכ֗ר פ֣י דוברי־שֽקר
