Ezekiel 46

Back to the temple sequence in Ezekiel. I was surprised to find a phrase that seems to mean what we call working (lit. doing) days. Restricting the religious life to 1 day a week. There may be a story here that cannot be told until one is old. (And I'm not telling at the moment.)

I tried to use a different English word for the various types of official, principal is the same stem as the verb to lift up.

Other terms in this domain of official are below - a good example of how difficult it is to find stems that are unique in English for every role using a different stem in Hebrew.
Read so far:
The whole in my data at present - put eyes and nose on it and one has a hairy beast dominated by מלך:
Categories of office holder in the Hebrew bible
This categorization spans like a double net all the approximately 3700 stems in the data. The lowest level has 107 categories that I can summarize under 7 headings: Creation, Culture, Engagement, Grammar, Names, Promise, and Trouble. 25% of the whole are words that are simply grammar. 12% of the whole are names for things people and places. Summarizing the world of the remaining 63% under 5 headings is a bit presumptuous of me, not to say somewhat biased. With only just over 100 categories, we have a large volume of words per category - about 30,000 average, but a small volume of stems, 37 on average. That does allow for some possible visualizations and some flexibility of questions to ask the data.

Verse 7 is awkward to read, the first two phrases seem to be in proleptic apposition to the word gift following. JB (and KJV) smooth it out nicely but it doesn't seem to read smoothly. Does God need to be smoothed out? Possibly the text was shifted while copying.

The last 6 verses take us back to the mystifying architectural description. Let's let the dream world of Ezekiel have its day.

Ezekiel 46 Fn Min Max Syll
1 Thus says my Lord Yahweh, The gate of the court the presence that faces east will be locked the six working days, and on the Sabbath day it will be opened,
and on the day of the new moon it will be opened.

He will not return the way of the gate by which he entered, but opposite it, he will go out.

And he will go forth, and he will lock the gate after his going forth.

14 And a gift you will make over it, from morning to morning, a sixth of the ephah, and oil, a third of a hin, to moisten the fine flour,
a gift for Yahweh, an everlasting decree continually.

16 Thus says my Lord Yahweh, When the principal gives a donation to anyone from among his children, its inheritance this will be for his children.
Their holding this will be in the inheritance.
3e 4C 32
9

17 But if he gives a donation of his inheritance to one from his servants, it will be his until the year of liberty, and it will return to the principal.
But his inheritance will be his children's, for them.
3e 4C 33
11
18 And the principal will not receive from the inheritance of the people by suppression from their holdings. From his holdings his children will inherit,
in order that my people not be dispersed, each from his holdings.

16
19 And he brought me into the entry that was at the shoulder of the gate, to the holy chambers of the priests, facing northward,
and behold there, a place on the two flanks seaward.
3e 4C 33
12

20 And he said to me, This is the place where the priests will boil the guilt offering and the sin offering,
where they will bake the gift, that they not bring them out to the outward court, to sanctify the people.
3d 4C 28
27
21 And he brought me out to the outward court and had me pass through by the four cut outs of the court,
and behold, court in the cut out of the court, court in the cut out of the court.
3e 4C 29
21

22 In the four cut outs of the court, courts were fused, forty in length and thirty in breadth,
of one measure for their four cut outs.
3e 4C 26
12

23 And a row round about in them, round about for the four of them,
and it was made of boiling places under the rows round about.
3d 4B 12
13

24 And he said to me,
These are the house of boiling places, where the ministers of the house boil the offering of the people.
