1 Chronicles 28

The first verse has 80 syllables without an atnah. That might be a record. It is certainly a mouthful to get from the verb in the first word to the place they are going in the last word.

In this section as in others, בחר takes a preposition ב on its object. In English we just say chose him, or chose the house, etc. In a few cases I have rendered the ב as in. There is always the danger of reading more into a preposition than one should. We know how impossible prepositions are to translate.

I also know how I have repeated pronouns. Bob's Bible could be known as the I I Bible or the he he Bible. Just slow down your reading. If you are speed reading, you are bypassing hearing. At 80% complete, I am just beginning to hear.

What I will hear I do not yet know. What I have heard I may have forgotten. (Ouch!) In the differentiation of the seconds of my now, knowledge (and control) is ephemeral. In their integration in the eternal reconstruction of the song of my life among others by the eternal mathematician, we will discover the completeness of the body that we together inhabit. The XML creators will rejoice in their unknown successes. The ancient musicians will rejoice with the yet to come arrangers of their work. So we see David's view of the scope of his lineage in the 6th verse of this chapter, from herald to the mystery of choices of God in the promise of an everlasting Davidic monarchy. Perhaps this also is the sense of the whole heart of verse 9.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜יד לִשְׁלֹמֹ֣ה בְנ֗וֹ חֲזַ֤ק וֶאֱמַץ֙ וַעֲשֵׂ֔ה אַל־תִּירָ֖א וְאַל־תֵּחָ֑ת כִּי֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהִ֤ים אֱלֹהַי֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ לֹ֤א יַרְפְּךָ֙ וְלֹ֣א יַֽעַזְבֶ֔ךָּ עַד־לִכְל֕וֹת כָּל־מְלֶ֖אכֶת עֲבוֹדַ֥ת בֵּית־יְהוָֽה	20		And David said to Solomon his son, Be encouraged and be assured and take action. Do not fear and do not be in disarray. For Yahweh God, my God is with you. He does not desist and will not forsake you until the consummation of all the lines of work of the service of the house of Yahweh.	3e	4C	25 34
וְהִנֵּ֗ה מַחְלְקוֹת֙ הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם לְכָל־עֲבוֹדַ֖ת בֵּ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וְעִמְּךָ֙ בְכָל־מְלָאכָ֜ה לְכָל־נָדִ֤יב בַּֽחָכְמָה֙ לְכָל־עֲבוֹדָ֔ה וְהַשָּׂרִ֥ים וְכָל־הָעָ֖ם לְכָל־דְּבָרֶֽיךָ	21		And behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites for all the service of the house of God, and with you in all lines of work, will be everyone willing in wisdom for any service, and the chiefs and all the people for all your matters.	3e	4C	24 34
