Leviticus 6

Given that the prior post is mid-chapter depending on whether one is reading the English or the Hebrew, I have done the two in succession.

Lifting high or exalting the fat after it has been a burning mass all night seems to imply that דשׁן means ashes here - but it says fat. I have never seen fat turn to ashes. It smokes and spatters. I hope for the sake of the linen clothes it has diminished in power by morning.

צַ֤ו אֶֽת־אַהֲרֹן֙ וְאֶת־בָּנָ֣יו לֵאמֹ֔ר זֹ֥את תּוֹרַ֖ת הָעֹלָ֑ה הִ֣וא הָעֹלָ֡ה עַל֩ מוֹקְדָ֨ה עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֤חַ כָּל־הַלַּ֙יְלָה֙ עַד־הַבֹּ֔קֶר וְאֵ֥שׁ הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ תּ֥וּקַד בּֽוֹ	2	C	Command Aaron and his children, saying, This is the instruction for the burnt offering. It is the burnt offering for a burning mass on the altar all the night long till the morning, and the fire of the altar, the burning mass in it.	3e	4C	17 29
וְלָבַ֨שׁ הַכֹּהֵ֜ן מִדּ֣וֹ בַ֗ד וּמִֽכְנְסֵי־בַד֮ יִלְבַּ֣שׁ עַל־בְּשָׂרוֹ֒ וְהֵרִ֣ים אֶת־הַדֶּ֗שֶׁן אֲשֶׁ֨ר תֹּאכַ֥ל הָאֵ֛שׁ אֶת־הָעֹלָ֖ה עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ וְשָׂמ֕וֹ אֵ֖צֶל הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ	3		And the priest will be clothed with his linen shirt and he will be clothed with linen breeches on his flesh and he will lift high the fat that the fire devoured with the burnt offering on the altar, and set it in place next to the altar.	3d	4B	42 9
וּפָשַׁט֙ אֶת־בְּגָדָ֔יו וְלָבַ֖שׁ בְּגָדִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֑ים וְהוֹצִ֤יא אֶת־הַדֶּ֙שֶׁן֙ אֶל־מִח֣וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה אֶל־מָק֖וֹם טָהֽוֹר	4		And he will strip off his garments and put on other garments, and he will bring forth the fat outside the camp to a clean place.	3e	4C	16 19
וְהָאֵ֨שׁ עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֤חַ תּֽוּקַד־בּוֹ֙ לֹ֣א תִכְבֶּ֔ה וּבִעֵ֨ר עָלֶ֧יהָ הַכֹּהֵ֛ן עֵצִ֖ים בַּבֹּ֣קֶר בַּבֹּ֑קֶר וְעָרַ֤ךְ עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ הָֽעֹלָ֔ה וְהִקְטִ֥יר עָלֶ֖יהָ חֶלְבֵ֥י הַשְּׁלָמִֽים	5		And the fire on the altar will be a burning mass in it. It will not be quenched, and the priest will kindle on it wood from morning to morning, and will arrange on it, the burnt offering, and will make burn with smoke on it, the gross fat of the peace offerings.	3c	4C	31 20
אֵ֗שׁ תָּמִ֛יד תּוּקַ֥ד עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ לֹ֥א תִכְבֶֽה	6	~	Fire continually will be a burning mass on the altar. It will not be quenched.	3d	3g	13
וְזֹ֥את תּוֹרַ֖ת הַמִּנְחָ֑ה הַקְרֵ֨ב אֹתָ֤הּ בְּנֵֽי־אַהֲרֹן֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־פְּנֵ֖י הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ	7		And this is the instruction for the gift. The children of Aaron will bring it near before Yahweh, before the altar.	3e	4C	7 19
וְהֵרִ֨ים מִמֶּ֜נּוּ בְּקֻמְצ֗וֹ מִסֹּ֤לֶת הַמִּנְחָה֙ וּמִשַּׁמְנָ֔הּ וְאֵת֙ כָּל־הַלְּבֹנָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־הַמִּנְחָ֑ה וְהִקְטִ֣יר הַמִּזְבֵּ֗חַ רֵ֧יחַ נִיחֹ֛חַ אַזְכָּרָתָ֖הּ לַיהוָֽה	8		And he will lift high from it, his extraction from the fine flour, the gift, and from its oil and all its frankincense that is on the gift, and he will make the altar burn with smoke, a fragrance restful its memorial to Yahweh.	3c	4C	31 18
וְהַנּוֹתֶ֣רֶת מִמֶּ֔נָּה יֹאכְל֖וּ אַהֲרֹ֣ן וּבָנָ֑יו מַצּ֤וֹת תֵּֽאָכֵל֙ בְּמָק֣וֹם קָדֹ֔שׁ בַּחֲצַ֥ר אֹֽהֶל־מוֹעֵ֖ד יֹאכְלֽוּהָ	9		And the remains from it Aaron and his children will eat. Unleavened bread will be eaten in the holy place. In the court of the tent of engagement they will eat it.	3e	4C	16 20
לֹ֤א תֵאָפֶה֙ חָמֵ֔ץ חֶלְקָ֛ם נָתַ֥תִּי אֹתָ֖הּ מֵאִשָּׁ֑י קֹ֤דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁים֙ הִ֔וא כַּחַטָּ֖את וְכָאָשָֽׁם	10	C	It will not be baked with leaven. As their share, I have given it, from the fire. Holy of holy things it is, as for the sin offering, and as for guilt offering.	3d	4C	16 13
כָּל־זָכָ֞ר בִּבְנֵ֤י אַהֲרֹן֙ יֹֽאכֲלֶ֔נָּה חָק־עוֹלָם֙ לְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם מֵאִשֵּׁ֖י יְהוָ֑ה כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־יִגַּ֥ע בָּהֶ֖ם יִקְדָּֽשׁ	11		Every male among the children of Aaron will eat of it, a statute evermore for your generations, from the fire of Yahweh. Everyone that touches them will be holy.	3d	4C	25 9
וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר	12		And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,	3e	3g	10
זֶ֡ה קָרְבַּן֩ אַהֲרֹ֨ן וּבָנָ֜יו אֲשֶׁר־יַקְרִ֣יבוּ לַֽיהוָ֗ה בְּיוֹם֙ הִמָּשַׁ֣ח אֹת֔וֹ עֲשִׂירִ֨ת הָאֵפָ֥ה סֹ֛לֶת מִנְחָ֖ה תָּמִ֑יד מַחֲצִיתָ֣הּ בַּבֹּ֔קֶר וּמַחֲצִיתָ֖הּ בָּעָֽרֶב	13	~	This is the oblation of Aaron and his children that they will bring near to Yahweh on the day he is anointed, the tenth of the ephah of fine flour, a gift continually, a half of it in the morning, and a half of it in the evening.	3d	4B	35 15
עַֽל־מַחֲבַ֗ת בַּשֶּׁ֛מֶן תֵּעָשֶׂ֖ה מֻרְבֶּ֣כֶת תְּבִיאֶ֑נָּה תֻּפִינֵי֙ מִנְחַ֣ת פִּתִּ֔ים תַּקְרִ֥יב רֵֽיחַ־נִיחֹ֖חַ לַיהוָֽה	14		In a pan with oil, it will be made, and when it is fried you will have it brought. The baking of the gift fragments, you will make as an oblation, a restful fragrance for Yahweh.	3d	4B	17 15
וְהַכֹּהֵ֨ן הַמָּשִׁ֧יחַ תַּחְתָּ֛יו מִבָּנָ֖יו יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה אֹתָ֑הּ חָק־עוֹלָ֕ם לַיהוָ֖ה כָּלִ֥יל תָּקְטָֽר	15		And the priest anointed in his stead from among his children will do it, a statute evermore to Yahweh. A whole offering you will make burn with smoke.	3c	4B	18 9
וְכָל־מִנְחַ֥ת כֹּהֵ֛ן כָּלִ֥יל תִּהְיֶ֖ה לֹ֥א תֵאָכֵֽל	16		And every gift of a priest, a whole offering it will be. It will not be eaten.	3d	3g	14
וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר	17		And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,	3e	3g	10
דַּבֵּ֤ר אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹן֙ וְאֶל־בָּנָ֣יו לֵאמֹ֔ר זֹ֥את תּוֹרַ֖ת הַֽחַטָּ֑את בִּמְק֡וֹם אֲשֶׁר֩ תִּשָּׁחֵ֨ט הָעֹלָ֜ה תִּשָּׁחֵ֤ט הַֽחַטָּאת֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה קֹ֥דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים הִֽוא	18		Speak to Aaron and to his children, saying, This is the instruction for the sin offering. In the place where the burnt offering is butchered, you will butcher the sin offering in the presence of Yahweh. Holy of holy things it is.	3e	4C	18 26
הַכֹּהֵ֛ן הַֽמְחַטֵּ֥א אֹתָ֖הּ יֹאכֲלֶ֑נָּה בְּמָק֤וֹם קָדֹשׁ֙ תֵּֽאָכֵ֔ל בַּחֲצַ֖ר אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד	19		The priest offering it for sin will eat it. In the holy place it will be eaten, in the court of the tent of engagement.	3d	4C	12 15
כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־יִגַּ֥ע בִּבְשָׂרָ֖הּ יִקְדָּ֑שׁ וַאֲשֶׁ֨ר יִזֶּ֤ה מִדָּמָהּ֙ עַל־הַבֶּ֔גֶד אֲשֶׁר֙ יִזֶּ֣ה עָלֶ֔יהָ תְּכַבֵּ֖ס בְּמָק֥וֹם קָדֹֽשׁ	20	d	All that touches its flesh will be holy. And when its blood is spattered on the garment, you will scour what it was spattered on in the holy place.	3d	4C	10 27
וּכְלִי־חֶ֛רֶשׂ אֲשֶׁ֥ר תְּבֻשַּׁל־בּ֖וֹ יִשָּׁבֵ֑ר וְאִם־בִּכְלִ֤י נְחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ בֻּשָּׁ֔לָה וּמֹרַ֥ק וְשֻׁטַּ֖ף בַּמָּֽיִם	21		But vessels of earthenware in which it is boiled will be broken, and if, in a vessel of brass it is boiled, then its ablution and its dousing will be in water.	3d	4C	12 19
כָּל־זָכָ֥ר בַּכֹּהֲנִ֖ים יֹאכַ֣ל אֹתָ֑הּ קֹ֥דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים הִֽוא	22		Every male among the priests will eat it. Holy of holy things it is.	3e	4B	11 6
וְכָל־חַטָּ֡את אֲשֶׁר֩ יוּבָ֨א מִדָּמָ֜הּ אֶל־אֹ֧הֶל מוֹעֵ֛ד לְכַפֵּ֥ר בַּקֹּ֖דֶשׁ לֹ֣א תֵאָכֵ֑ל בָּאֵ֖שׁ תִּשָּׂרֵֽף	23		But every sin offering the blood of which is brought into the tent of engagement to make a cover-price in the sanctuary, you will not eat. In the fire it will be incinerated.	3c	4B	26 5
