וַיִּ֨מְלָךְ־מֶ֔לֶךְ צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ בֶּן־יֹֽאשִׁיָּ֑הוּ תַּ֗חַת כָּנְיָ֙הוּ֙ בֶּן־יְה֣וֹיָקִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִמְלִ֛יךְ נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל בְּאֶ֥רֶץ יְהוּדָֽה | 1 | And king Zedekiah, child of Josiah, reigned, instead of Konyah, child of Jehoiachim, whom Nebukadretsar king of Babel made king in the land Judah. | 3d | 4B | 14 29
וְלֹ֥א שָׁמַ֛ע ה֥וּא וַעֲבָדָ֖יו וְעַ֣ם הָאָ֑רֶץ אֶל־דִּבְרֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֔ר בְּיַ֖ד יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ הַנָּבִֽיא | 2 | But he did not hear, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, the words of Yahweh that he spoke by the hand of Jeremiah the prophet. | 3d | 4B | 14 18
וַיִּשְׁלַח֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ צִדְקִיָּ֜הוּ אֶת־יְהוּכַ֣ל בֶּן־שֶֽׁלֶמְיָ֗ה וְאֶת־צְפַנְיָ֤הוּ בֶן־מַֽעֲשֵׂיָה֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן אֶל־יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ הַנָּבִ֖יא לֵאמֹ֑ר הִתְפַּלֶּל־נָ֣א בַעֲדֵ֔נוּ אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ | 3 | And king Zedekiah sent Jehukal, child of Shelemyah, and Zephaniah, child of Maaseyah the priest, to Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Pray, if you will, concerning us to Yahweh our God. | 3e | 4C | 42 15
וְיִרְמְיָ֕הוּ בָּ֥א וְיֹצֵ֖א בְּת֣וֹךְ הָעָ֑ם וְלֹֽא־נָתְנ֥וּ אֹת֖וֹ בֵּ֥ית הַכְּלֽוּא | 4 | And Jeremiah came in and went out among the people, for they had not consigned him to the house of restraint. | 3e | 4B | 13 9
וְחֵ֥יל פַּרְעֹ֖ה יָצָ֣א מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם וַיִּשְׁמְע֨וּ הַכַּשְׂדִּ֜ים הַצָּרִ֤ים עַל־יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ אֶת־שִׁמְעָ֔ם וַיֵּ֣עָל֔וּ מֵעַ֖ל יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם | 5 | And a force from Pharaoh came out from Egypt, and the Chaldeans, who had laid siege against Jerusalem, heard a message about them, and they went up from Jerusalem. | 3e | 4C | 10 28
וַֽיְהִי֙ דְּבַר־יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ הַנָּבִ֖יא לֵאמֹֽר | 6 | And the word of Yahweh happened to Jeremiah the prophet, saying, | 3e | 3g | 16
כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כֹּ֤ה תֹֽאמְרוּ֙ אֶל־מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה הַשֹּׁלֵ֧חַ אֶתְכֶ֛ם אֵלַ֖י לְדָרְשֵׁ֑נִי הִנֵּ֣ה ׀ חֵ֣יל פַּרְעֹ֗ה הַיֹּצֵ֤א לָכֶם֙ לְעֶזְרָ֔ה שָׁ֥ב לְאַרְצ֖וֹ מִצְרָֽיִם | 7 | Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Thus you will say to the king of Judah who sent you to me to search of me, Behold the force of Pharaoh has come out to you to help. It will return to its land of Egypt. | 3c | 4C | 32 20
וְשָׁ֙בוּ֙ הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים וְנִלְחֲמ֖וּ עַל־הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֑את וּלְכָדֻ֖הָ וּשְׂרָפֻ֥הָ בָאֵֽשׁ | 8 | And the Chaldeans will return, and they will fight this city, and they will conquer it, and will incinerate it in the fire. | 3e | 4B | 15 10
כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אַל־תַּשִּׁ֤אוּ נַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הָלֹ֛ךְ יֵלְכ֥וּ מֵעָלֵ֖ינוּ הַכַּשְׂדִּ֑ים כִּי־לֹ֖א יֵלֵֽכוּ | 9 | B | Thus says Yahweh, Do not lure yourselves to say, the Chaldeans will walk on away from us, for they will not walk on. | 3d | 4C | 26 4 |
כִּ֣י אִם־הִכִּיתֶ֞ם כָּל־חֵ֤יל כַּשְׂדִּים֙ הַנִּלְחָמִ֣ים אִתְּכֶ֔ם וְנִ֨שְׁאֲרוּ בָ֔ם אֲנָשִׁ֖ים מְדֻקָּרִ֑ים אִ֤ישׁ בְּאָהֳלוֹ֙ יָק֔וּמוּ וְשָֽׂרְפ֛וּ אֶת־הָעִ֥יר הַזֹּ֖את בָּאֵֽשׁ | 10 | B | For though you had struck all the force of the Chaldeans that fight you, and the residue in them of men were thrust through, each in his tent, they would arise and incinerate this city in the fire. | 3d | 4C | 27 18 |
וְהָיָ֗ה בְּהֵֽעָלוֹת֙ חֵ֣יל הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים מֵעַ֖ל יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם מִפְּנֵ֖י חֵ֥יל פַּרְעֹֽה | 11 | And it happened in the going up of the force of the Chaldeans from Jerusalem, rather than face of the force of Pharaoh, | 3e | 4B | 17 5
וַיֵּצֵ֤א יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ מִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם לָלֶ֖כֶת אֶ֣רֶץ בִּנְיָמִ֑ן לַחֲלִ֥ק מִשָּׁ֖ם בְּת֥וֹךְ הָעָֽם | 12 | That Jeremiah came forth from Jerusalem to walk to the land of Benjamin, to part from there in the midst of the people. | 3e | 4C | 19 9
וַיְהִי־ה֞וּא בְּשַׁ֣עַר בִּנְיָמִ֗ן וְשָׁם֙ בַּ֣עַל פְּקִדֻ֔ת וּשְׁמוֹ֙ יִרְאִיָּ֔יה בֶּן־שֶֽׁלֶמְיָ֖ה בֶּן־חֲנַנְיָ֑ה וַיִּתְפֹּ֞שׂ אֶֽת־יִרְמְיָ֤הוּ הַנָּבִיא֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר אֶל־הַכַּשְׂדִּ֖ים אַתָּ֥ה נֹפֵֽל | 13 | And he was at the gate of Benjamin, and a senior officer was there and his name, Iriyah child of Shelemyah, child of Hananiah, and he arrested Jeremiah the prophet, saying, You are falling away to the Chaldeans. | 3e | 4C | 28 21
I am not falling away to the Chaldeans. But he did not hear him. And Iriyah arrested Jeremiah and brought him to the nobility. | 3e | 4C | 24 19
וַיִּקְצְפ֧וּ הַשָּׂרִ֛ים עַֽל־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ וְהִכּ֣וּ אֹת֑וֹ וְנָתְנ֨וּ אוֹת֜וֹ בֵּ֣ית הָאֵס֗וּר בֵּ֚ית יְהוֹנָתָ֣ן הַסֹּפֵ֔ר כִּֽי־אֹת֥וֹ עָשׂ֖וּ לְבֵ֥ית הַכֶּֽלֶא | 15 | And the nobility raged over Jeremiah, and struck him. And they consigned him to the house of bondage, the house of Jonathan, the secretary, for they had made it the house of restraint. | 3c | 4C | 17 26
כִּ֣י בָ֧א יִרְמְיָ֛הוּ אֶל־בֵּ֥ית הַבּ֖וֹר וְאֶל־הַֽחֲנֻ֑יוֹת וַיֵּֽשֶׁב־שָׁ֥ם יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ יָמִ֥ים רַבִּֽים | 16 | B | So Jeremiah came to the house of the pit, and to the camps, And Jeremiah sat there many days. | 3c | 4B | 16 12 |
וַיִּשְׁלַח֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ צִדְקִיָּ֜הוּ וַיִּקָּחֵ֗הוּ וַיִּשְׁאָלֵ֨הוּ הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ בְּבֵיתוֹ֙ בַּסֵּ֔תֶר וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הֲיֵ֥שׁ דָּבָ֖ר מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙ יֵ֔שׁ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר בְּיַ֥ד מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל תִּנָּתֵֽן | 17 | And king Zedekiah sent and took him, and the king asked him in his house in secret, and he said, Is there any word from Yahweh? And Jeremiah said, There is, and he said, Into the hand of the king of Babel, you will be given. | 3e | 4C | 40 20
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ אֶל־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ צִדְקִיָּ֑הוּ מֶה֩ חָטָ֨אתִֽי לְךָ֤ וְלַעֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ וְלָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה כִּֽי־נְתַתֶּ֥ם אוֹתִ֖י אֶל־בֵּ֥ית הַכֶּֽלֶא | 18 | And Jeremiah said to king Zedekiah, What have I sinned against you or against your servants or against this people, that you have consigned me to the house of restraint? | 3e | 4C | 15 28
וְאַיֵּה֙ נְבִ֣יאֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־נִבְּא֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר לֹֽא־יָבֹ֤א מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶל֙ עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם וְעַ֖ל הָאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּֽאת | 19 | And where are your prophets that prophesied to you, saying, The king of Babel will not come against you and against this land? | 3e | 4C | 15 16
וְעַתָּ֕ה שְֽׁמַֽע־נָ֖א אֲדֹנִ֣י הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ תִּפָּל־נָ֤א תְחִנָּתִי֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ וְאַל־תְּשִׁבֵ֗נִי בֵּ֚ית יְהוֹנָתָ֣ן הַסֹּפֵ֔ר וְלֹ֥א אָמ֖וּת שָֽׁם | 20 | So now hear, if you will, my lord the king. Let now my supplication fall before you, and do not let me return to the house of Jonathan, the secretary, and I will not die there. | 3e | 4C | 12 30
וַיְצַוֶּ֞ה הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ צִדְקִיָּ֗הוּ וַיַּפְקִ֣דוּ אֶֽת־יִרְמְיָהוּ֮ בַּחֲצַ֣ר הַמַּטָּרָה֒ וְנָתֹן֩ ל֨וֹ כִכַּר־לֶ֤חֶם לַיּוֹם֙ מִח֣וּץ הָאֹפִ֔ים עַד־תֹּ֥ם כָּל־הַלֶּ֖חֶם מִן־הָעִ֑יר וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ בַּחֲצַ֖ר הַמַּטָּרָֽה | 21 | And king Zedekiah commanded that they entrust Jeremiah in the court of the cell, and give him a talent of bread daily, from the street of the bakers, until all bread from the city was completed, and Jeremiah settled in the court of the cell. | 3e | 4C | 50 14 |
I have rendered ביד as 'by means of ' but given the written record through Baruch I kept the literal body-part here. Body-parts are used figuratively in Hebrew as in other tongues (לשׁון). I have 84 body-parts in my data so far. Here are a few that have uses other than the literal body-part. Some of these are homonyms rather than figurative usage. (There is a lot of refining to do that I am just deleting from the query result so far. It raises interesting questions about the design and the evolution of the language, e.g. the roots around שׁד, שׁדד, שׁוד, שׁדה. Paired letters often link a number of related root families.)

The automation process still keeps Jeremiah at the top of my lists: the next few (> 56% automated guesses greater than a single word) are at present: Jeremiah 29, 2 Samuel 7, 2 Kings 18, Jeremiah 39, Exodus 33, Deuteronomy 7, 1 Chronicles 17, Exodus 18, Deuteronomy 3, Deuteronomy 12, Exodus 32, 34. There are 46 more > 50% so whichever I do next, the list will change. The automated function is a batch process. I generally run it (takes 2 minutes or so) after I finish a chapter, but sometimes in the middle of the exercise when I see corrections that have been made will result in several consequences. (See further below on related domain analysis.)
I note that if I include my single word guesses, 304 chapters are more than 80% guessed, only 8 of the remaining 480 chapters are less than 50% guessed. We are closing in a reading of this full puzzle. I wonder what conclusions about the whole picture that we will find.
