Inter-faith writing - peace, enemies and the foxes

Here's a lovely piece of inter-faith writing from the Velveteen Rabbi. It's about peace and the tension in the Akedah between Muslim and Jewish intrpretations of who it was whom Abraham nearly offered as a burnt offering.

I have noted the role of the Hebrew Shalom in the Song of Songs in a comment.

In the Song, the foxes (shu`alim) occur twice in one verse and the Shulamite twice in one verse. This too can be seen as a frame for the poem around the word of peace (shalom). The beloved herself must learn to care for her own vineyard and must not be like a fox. [Seeing the Psalter 2013, page 201 in the Excursus on Foxes following Psalm 63 מְנתָ שֻׁעלָיִם יהְִיוּ.]
See also Song 8:10 אָז הָיִיתִי בְעֵינָיו כְּמֹוצְאֵת שָׁלֹֽום - Then I became in his eyes as one finding peace.
Did we find that 'peace' in the Song?

Here's another link today via Jim Davila, on the consecutive blood moons falling on Jewish holidays.

And here's the latest carnival for BS.
