Coming soon to a blog near you
a new rendition of the great fishy tale
of the Dag-Hagadol a new reel o
f the flight of the Dove named Jonah
Tarshish-ward and part way
that is one day
into Nineveh
that Ir-Hagadol of three days breadth
that Ir of the gods Ha-elohim
And if Hashem will let
I will not omit
the hurled winds a la Neptune
and lifted up and hurled Dove
a sleeping sacrifice submitted
voluntarily with a little coaxing
Have a gourd Jonah, a tender gourd,
as a shade in your booth for your evil Ra!
There's a serious psalm in the midst
that should have you shaking and quaking
with fear YiRaH or with laughter WaMaX (that's an ess)
remains to be seen - lRaH
Ah Beloved, do not forget the middle verse of the psalm
מְשַׁמְּרִים הַבְלֵי שָׁוְא חַסְדָּם יַעֲזֹבוּ
I bet you didn't even know there was such a verse in this fable.
Yes - Beloved, it is a fish story.
Do not chase after windy emptiness
but delight in the tenderness of the shadow
under which you have found shelter
I won't tell you how I am going to translate that verse 'cause I don't know yet.
